I really need to add something to my daughter's freshly painted walls. She has two solid walls that I would like to put her name, maybe a quote or 2 on. Can I make this on my computer? Or is it worth it to just have them made for me?How can I make inexpensive adhesive words for my daughter's walls? Mainly single words...not sentences.?
I found a list of companies that sell wall stickers, have a look at the ideas they show. You can use your computer to enlarge some cool letters and trace them onto contact paper sold at W-M and discount stores, cut out your letters and tape them up to aid in placement before you remove the backing and stick them to you wall. Contact paper doesn't stick as 'forever' as it did years ago.
I used the computer to enlarge my initials and cut them from reflector sticky tape and put them on my mailbox. Worked great. How can I make inexpensive adhesive words for my daughter's walls? Mainly single words...not sentences.?
Someone recently asked a similar question, wanting to write song lyrics on their bedroom walls. One of the suggestions was to buy a small projector from a craft store such as Michael's or Hobby Lobby. You can then type words or pharses you like in a word prcessing program, setting them in the font of your choice (download some new ones if you want it really nice). Print them, and then use the projector to aim them on the walls. You can then trace them onto the wall and either paint them in or use sharpies, paint pens, etc to fill the leters. You could even get more creative and use gllues and glitter to embellish them.
you could by stencils with initials or go free hand if you are confident with your hand writing , and paint the name or quotes on the walls, you could even rent a projector for a few hours to make it easier. if you decide to paint ,get the little samplers that they sell at the hardware store and you will have enough to do writing with a small artist brush , if you like you could even outline it in gold or silver. You could find things on your computer and photo copy them on Mylar , that you cut out with an exacto knife. Wall Mart sells stencils in the crafts department .
Another idea depending on how creative you are or how much time you have available you could use a sheet of polystyrene/styrofoam (from a hardware store or builders providers) and cut it into your design and decorate them with paint, glitter, etc to make lightweight 3D text. It can be attached to the walls or suspended from a ceiling using fishing line or double sided sticky tabs. The foam can be cut using a sharp knife.
i actually just bought some of this kind of stuff at the dollar tree! and as a surprise, it actually works. they don't come in ';ready-made'; phrases, but you can make it yourself with letters. :] good luck!
