Has anyone used those adhesive push up bras I have backless dress and need help with bras?

Victoria secret has an adhesive push up bra please help i need a bra to wearHas anyone used those adhesive push up bras I have backless dress and need help with bras?
Those that Victoria secret sells actually work well, but you have to get it right the first time you apply them so be careful! Make sure that you don't put any lotion or oil on the area of the breast that the bra will adhere to because they will not last and will not stick properly. Put the bra on and then apply lotion or oil to the areas around it being careful not to get too close. Another thing to consider is that if you have large breast, these do not provide the type of support that you would normally be accustomed to, so hope this helps.Has anyone used those adhesive push up bras I have backless dress and need help with bras?
Depends on your cup size. If you aren't sportin' a big chest you can probably pull it off, but if you have a large chest I'd look for a bra made to be worn with a backless dress.
I have used them, they worked great in general. Only have 2 negatives. I. if you have large nipples and thin fabric there's a problem with showing. 2. adhesive took a while to get off, polish remover helped. I used them several times and was a C cup, would certainly use them again.

Im putting down self adhesive vinyl floor tile.....????????

on to ceramic tile and was told by ace hardware to use ';acryl pro ceramic tile adhesive '; ive layed a few tiles but i dont think its right. need some help, is this the correct procedure?????Im putting down self adhesive vinyl floor tile.....????????
Acryl Pro is used to put Ceramic tile down, not vinyl tile. If you already have Ceramic tile on the floor, it has to be smooth before you can put down the vinyl tile. If you have any bumps or dips, it will show up after you walk on it for a while. If it is smooth, Henry's makes a vinyl tile prep that you put down on the floor to help hold the tile down better. You can find it at Lowe's. If you have bumps and dips, you will have to either pull up the old Ceramic and start over, or put down a new subfloor.Im putting down self adhesive vinyl floor tile.....????????
the first thing you should do is make sure your floor is smooth, by smooth i mean filling all the grout lines in the ceramic tile. the self stick tiles will sink into any places that there is an indentation. i would NOT recommend doing what you are. the only way i MIGHT do this would be to glue, using lots of liquid nails, new laun over the tile then apply the self-stick tile
as long as the surface is smooth yes. there is stuff that you can spread out to smooth the cracks or places where tile may be missing.
I think ACE is telling you to hedge your bets. The adhesive on the back of floor tile is sensitive to heat, cold, and moisture. Using an additional adhesive should resolve that problem by providing more stick um.

How do i remove adhesive wall border?

If steam doesn't work, try lighter fluid which you can buy from a tobaconist. A few drops of that onto the wall border and let it soak in and you should be able to peel it off very easily. Also great for removing stains caused by adhesives on a variety of surfaces. How do i remove adhesive wall border?
You probably need to put heat or steam on it to make the adhesive less sticky so it will peel off or you can scrape it off.

Otherwise you can just score it and peel it off, but that would be hard. How do i remove adhesive wall border?
You can use a 50/50 mixture of hot water and fabric softener in a spray bottle. Very cheap and minimal labor involved. Just spray on and wait about 5-10 mins and then you are good to go.
Well I use pre-pasted wall border, and change about twice a year. I just use warm water. I spray it well, let it soak for a couple of minutes and just use a spatula or something with a flat edge and gently scrape it off. If there are a spot or two that is difficult just repeat with the water.
Well, there is steaming it off. If money is an issue and you don't want to rent a machine, you can purchase a remover from your local hardware store.

I have actually scored the walls and used a mixture of water and vinegar which was basically free items in my house. I let it sit for about 30 seconds and peeled it off with a flat spatular. Just be sure not to score the walls in tiny pieces because it will take longer than in a bigger size to remove.
    Isopropryl Alcohol
It is far easier and less expensive to go over it with what ever you choose, for instance, if the walls are mess up and beyond repair, or painting , go over it with 1/4 inch Sheetrock. Is the board on another board it has to be adhere to something in which case you should start on a corner, after you remove the corner bead you will see the edge, use a flat bar or a 5 inch wide putty knife, make it a strong one not to pliable. If it's adhere to the studs punch a hole in between the studs and rip it off by hand. But my experience of 15 years Say's go over it with 1/4 inch rock. it's the cheapest cleanest way. good luck

Is polyamide a good choice? Who are the major suppliers of this adhesive? What's the most cost effective hot-melt adhesive: metal to metal sheet bounding in continuous production lines
Why are you using hot melt? Epoxy systems are better for a number of reasons: You use less adhesive, the bonds are stronger regardless of environmental factors (like heat), fatigue life is longer, surface prep is less of an issue.

Try Araldite 2010 with a static mixing head, cures in 10minutes at room temp and is designed for metal/metal bonding, no more heating element problems and Araldite will supply all the equipment turn-key.

Holes and adhesive on plaster walls?

    HELP.

My husband and I were installing vinyl TILES to the walls in our kitchen, and they look great everywhere.. except over the stove. For some reason they shifted there, and were out of line, and it's the most visible spot in the kitchen. So he took the tiles down, but now there is adhesive residue left over... and there are chunks of wall that came off on the tiles themselves.

I don't have a CLUE how to fix this part of the wall to make it even again... help... please, thanks. :(Holes and adhesive on plaster walls?
The tile glue residue should come of by scraping, if not you could try universal thinners to soften the glue then scrape it of. You want to get as much of it off as possible. If the residue is really hard you may want to try sanding it to a smooth finish.

Once you have got the residue off, or sanded down smooth then you will need to get some drywall plaster, premixed, and apply by joint knife, try and get it as smooth as you can if the chunks that fell out were fairly deep you will have to apply two or more coats to these areas to build it up flush. Once you have done this and its all dry then sand smooth using a 220 grade sandpaper.

Now seal this plaster with a water based drywall primer and your back to square on and ready to re tile. If the tile glue you were using was a water based one then you will want to let it fully cure before using the stove as any steam or heat will soften the glue which may have been the problem in the first place, consult the supplier of the adhesive for more detailed advice on this.Holes and adhesive on plaster walls?
Put the tiles right back up again;the tiles will cover the holes

If the walls are really uneven, try a heat gun to soften the glue and use a metal putty knife to scrape it off.

No, acrylic primer is something to prepare a surface, not something sticky. You know the white stuff on canvas, that's gesso, a type of acrylic primer.

Adhesive sprave is ';adhesive'; to stick things together. I suggest a primer if you are preparing a surface for paint.

I need help preparing porous plywood floor previously covered by carpet to install self-adhesive tile flooring

I was told to sand the wood and sweep up. Then to add Kilz2 latex primer as a wood undercoater to seal and prime woodwork. My floor is uneven so I was told to add after the Kilz, Henry 547 Unipro a universal patch and skimcoating. For the surfaces prior to the installing of the self-adhesive tile. I would like to know if these are the correct ways of preparing my floor.I need help preparing porous plywood floor previously covered by carpet to install self-adhesive tile flooring
Jennifer is right. The Luan is WAY easier, WAY faster and,( by the time you have bought all the tools, rented the floor sander and bought all this goop that's been suggested to you) it'll probably cost less too.

As for that slope...shim it with scrap luan.

Really. This is the path of least resistance...I need help preparing porous plywood floor previously covered by carpet to install self-adhesive tile flooring
all i see is a pile of stupid answers

houses are made with a plywood floor that is also covered with what is called a sub floor 3/8 partical board, made to tear up when replacing an old floor to make things fresh

new sub floor is a most in some circomstances

check it out at home depot or others

they will give the best answers
    Yes they are.
If you want to do the floor, then follow some of these instructions, if you want to do the floor right, then ...

In the first place luan is not for me unless the floor is even and you just want the floor to have something under it, laying down carpet. Your going to put down tile, you want a solid base.

You said your floor was uneven to start with? Put down 1/4 inch cement board and skip the Henri's, instead punt down a good primer from Home Depot. Put two coats, let them dry good.

You can level the floor with ';leveler'; tapering it at the ends to give you a smooth finish. Your floor will last forever this way.
If your floor has only a slight uneven place that shouldn't be a problem. Most houses built on pier and beam usually do after time. However I would make sure that this is the case and not a joist going bad on ya. As far as floor prep.--you can chaulk the seams and put a good coat of kilz on it. There is no need for the Henry patch or the luan. Just seal the floor make sure it it good and clean, free of all dust and you should be good to go. Just make sure your slight slope it not caused by any other problem.
That is the correct way to do it.
Install 1/4'; luan plywood to smooth your floor. Unless you are referring to a broken floor joist. Then I would suggest you repair the joist. If you are referring to a minor slope in the floor from house settling then the self sick vinyl tiles are flexible and will accommodate the floor. Peel and stick tiles shrink and gap in a short period of time. I would recommend a LVT tile with adhesive. Mannington Adura is a great product guaranteed not to shrink. Very strong wear layer surface as well.

    Good luck with your project.
If the slope is minor, I wouldn't worry about it. Fill any holes or gouges with wood putty. Let dry and sand smooth. Vacuum with a shop vac, or a good vacuum cleaner. Prime with a tile adhesive prep sold in quart bottles (you should find it right with the adhesive tiles in the home improvement or hardware store) pour into a paint pan and apply with a paint roller. Let it dry until it's ';tacky'; (slightly sticky) and apply you tile as recommended by the manufacturer.
sounds right....you dont have to sand the whole floor just the joints of the plywood...so their not uneven
I'm not sure what you mean by uneven, but if the whole floor is warped with fairly serious dips and divots here and there, the FIRST step is to even everything up by troweling in ';floor leveler'; which is a powder to which you add water to make a thick paste. Just smear it on with a trowel that has a straight edge (not notched). Pay special attention to places where the subfloor is butted together -get those cracks filled. Smooth your work as much as possible with the trowel. After everything had dried, hit it with a sander. If you use a hand held belt sander (you can rent one), use a circular motion across the surface, and DON'T STOP moving -you don't want to dig in anywhere. Messy work -a lot of dust.

With the leveling done, sweep and vacuum to get every last bit of dust off the surface. Use a damp cloth, even, to get it all. Now apply a coat of cheap varnish or clear lacquer; if the area is small, you may find it in a spray can. What you're looking for is the same thing you would have if you put a piece of tape on any flat, shiny surface -like a table top. That tape would STICK. When the varnish has THOROUGHLY dried, you can lay your floor down.

Self-stick tiles are usually very thing, so irregularities on the subfloor -nail heads, bits of saw dust, tiny pebbles, and cracks between wood will absolutely show through in time -and not much time, either.

Leave a small gap between the tiles and any walls, so everything can expand without bulging up; you can cover the cracks with quater round or other trim.

    Good luck.
If you skip the luan, you might as well recarpet, it won't last.

My suggestion would be laminate flooring.

It's like Pergo but now you can get it for a buck per sq ft.

No need for luan and it holds up great, I even put a cigarette out on a scrap w/o hurting it.
I actually did what you are talking about. It was done about ten years ago and the floor is still in good shape. Go for it!

How thick will adhesive be if you spread At a rate of 5 US gal per 100 sq. ft.?

1 gallon is 0.1336806 cubic feet.

    0.1336806 ft^3 / 100 ft^2 = 0.0013368 ft thick = 0.016 inches

~= 1/64th of an inch per gallon, so... 5/64th of an inch -- slightly over 1/16th of an inch

.How thick will adhesive be if you spread At a rate of 5 US gal per 100 sq. ft.?
A gallon is 231 cubic inches.

5 gallons spread over 100 square feet is

    5*231/(100*144) = 0.080 inches

It is common in dealing with adhesives to talk about ';mil thickness';. Mils are thousandths of an inch, so in this case, the thickness is 80 mils.

If the adhesive has a volatile component, aqueous, organic (VOC), or a combination, it will start to shrink in thickness immediately after application, so that the final thickness will be less by a factor of

    (100-%voc)/100

If the adhesive contained 20% volatiles, the thickness would be reduced by a factor of

    (100-20)/100 = 0.80

so the final thickness of an 80 mil coating of adhesive with 20% volatile content would be 64 mils.

Rock Band - best adhesive to tape mouse pads on?

I've seen the mod for rock band to quiet the drums a bit by taping mouse pads to them. what kind of tape / adhesive would be best to use that will hold the mouse pads on. I'd like something that i can remove later, and wont leave residue all over the place! ThanksRock Band - best adhesive to tape mouse pads on?
There's something called ';gaffer's tape'; which is rather expensive (about $50.00/roll) used by studios and theatres to tape down wiring (the guy the call the gaffer). It leaves very little residue.

Barring that little expense, perhaps first aid adhesive might leave the least residue? I never tried it for extended periods of time.

But Goo Gone should remove the little bit that is left behind.Rock Band - best adhesive to tape mouse pads on?
For ours I cut circles out of old sweatshirts and taped it to the sides with duct tape. The ';pads'; are colored appropriately. One green, red, yellow and blue.

    Good luck.

And a little bit of rubbing alcohol should take the residue off.

Is there a machine that applies ceramic tile adhesive?

i have a big job to do and wondered if there was a machine that applies adhesive so you can just lay the tiles into it as you follow behind the machine which someone is opperating the machine leaves a correct amount of adhesive for you to lay evenly? some one said they seen one in opperation but didnt know much about itIs there a machine that applies ceramic tile adhesive?
Never heard of a machine. You could always pay a trained labourer to place the adhesive. Problem with technology is, you could certainly make such a machine... but technology has a tendancy to fail at the most critical time.... and with all that adhesive down ahead of you.... while you are having difficulty because the floor is out of square .. all that adhesive is going green... The machine won't be clever technology.. it'll be like a plasterers trowelling machine.. so if it were reasonable to use for tiling.. it would have been used for years.. don't you think? Anyway, I've never seen one.Is there a machine that applies ceramic tile adhesive?
No. It would put too much adhesive down too fast. There is a timing art to tiling, and unless you had several people laying tile, a machine is too fast. There is also a feel for doing this, and moisture content, humidity, etc. are factors you would lose the feel of. Not to mention too many people getting in each others way, and the resultant look of the tile. Like many chefs in the kitchen, cooking the same dish without tasting it. Bad idea.
I never heared of such a thing , so i guess you got a pretty good idea there , good product if produced

but for adhesive i think the only thing to apply adhesive is the simple plan old trowel
If there is then I havent heard of it. Mind you I have nothing whatever to do with the tiling industry so what do I know.
not exactly a machine, it is called a trowel - the type with notches down the edge, cover an area about two square yards aprox and fit on the tiles, good luck and keep them level, in line and flat. (Shiny side out)

There is no absolutely perfect glue. Styx do an acid free transfer pen in either permanent or removable. This rolls on a line of glue which is virtually invisible behind vellum and is the most popular solution we sell.

V2 Vellum spray adhesive by Helmar is probably the best if you want to stick a larger piece down flat as the spray will give a consistent look all over.

Tombow glue sticks are a clear gel which doesn't show much.

You can attach with brads or there is a long reach punch with two small holes through which you can thread ribbon or fibres and tie in a bow or various knots possibly adding beads. Or you can layer an opaque piece of paper on top the glue line or cover the line with a plain or decorative peeloff or a line of glitter or liquid pearl or sequins etc. etc.
The beauty of vellum is that it gives you a peek at the paper underneath. So you should use brads or corners.

    .
use brads or eyelets, or get yourself some Vellum glue, it's completley clear and does not ruin the paper. have a look for Tombo glue stick.

Cohesive are the forces among the molecules of a same substance.

Adhesive are the forces between the molecules of two different substances.

Cohesive force keep the molecules of the water well intended and stiched with each other that is why there is surface tension at the upper surface of water.

Capillary action occurs due to the both cohesive and adhesive (among water and glass tube molecules) forces.

How do i get adhesive\pest glue off my hamster?

Try vegetable oil.How do i get adhesive\pest glue off my hamster?
    shower him...

or...(Ive always done this...)hold they roots of the fur and get your pointer finger and thumb and pinch the fur and pull the glue off...but it wont harm your hamster because remember...you've got you r hand on the roots...
If it was caught on one of those sticky traps use veggie oil. It usually works.
Baby oil or cold creme make up remover. Both will remove adhesives as well as pine tar!
Are you talking about a glue-board for mice disposal? You'll never get that adhesive to dissolve. If you can, try cutting the hair off very gently. I wish you luck :)
Peanut Butter it takes chewing gum out of hair so try it!

rub it for a while them comb it out.
    Mineral oil!!!!
That happened to my rabbit before and he ended up getting a hair cut, but unfortunately hamster hair is too short so I'd suggest vegetable oil or baby oil. Any type of cooking oil or remover products will work just make sure they won't cause harm to your hamster.

What is the best adhesive to tack the head liner back on. please help I cant see its driving me crazy?

Absolutely the only thing to use and the one that upholstery shops usually use is the 3M brand number 77 spray adhesive. Most all major auto parts stores carry it and if I remember is about 7 bucks a can. DON'T get the cheap stuff as is crappola. Heat will cause the cheap stuff to let go on a hot day. That 3M 77 stuff lasts at least as long as the original if not longer. Sprays to both sides (headliner cloth and also headliner board) Once dry to the touch, depending on weather from a couple of minutes to 30 minutes, ';carefully'; put it back on. You won't get a second chance usually as this stuff stick s on contact when you are putting it back on so some help is usually a good idea to make sure you don't stick it back in the wrong spot and have it stuck there permanently. :-)What is the best adhesive to tack the head liner back on. please help I cant see its driving me crazy?
I use 3M Hi-Strenght 90 Spray Adhesive. What is the best adhesive to tack the head liner back on. please help I cant see its driving me crazy?
None will work very well. It is the foam backing that deteriorates. You will never re-glue the o;d and make it look good, and it may not stick well.

You can use a staple gun, or thumbtacks, those will work OK. If you don't want to spend the money at an upholstery shop, just pull all the fabric out, brush off all the crumbling foam and paint the formed board with latex paint. It looks pretty good, and you can still have new fabric installed later if you wish.
you should see about having the head liner fixed ...

What you or if you pay some one to do is take the head liner out of the car remove all the old glue and glue on a new one head liner with 3m spray adhesive . I hope this will help
it all depends what is falling, just the cloth from the cardboard or the whole cardboard headliner. If its the cardboard they use velcro or a two sided tape at the factory to hold it up in the front and back. If the cloth has seperated from the cardboard there is not a whole lot you can do except replace the whole headliner unless you want to duct tape it up somehow. and maybe try gorilla glue.

Anyone know where to purchase cat claw softener (not the adhesive claw covers)?

At one time I purchases a solution hat when painted onto my cats claws, caused them to soften. I can't find it anywhere!

I'm aware of the soft paw cat claw covers, but I do not like those.

Anyone know where I can find the softener?

Thanks!Anyone know where to purchase cat claw softener (not the adhesive claw covers)?
    Never heard of that one.

Cats clean their paws with their tongues; I wonder about the safety of anything that would soften their claws. Maybe that's why it isn't around any more?Anyone know where to purchase cat claw softener (not the adhesive claw covers)?
I've never heard of such a thing and would not advise using it. What happens when the nails get soft? The cat can't scratch its scratching posts and could injure the vein. Try buying cat nail trimmers and see if your cat will allow you to trim the sharp tips of the nails. Put the cat in your lap, gently squeeze the paw to expose the nails, and cut off the curved tip, avoiding cutting too close to the vein. Offer the cat treats. Try a nail or two at a time until your cat gets used to it. You could have someone help you. One person could scruff the cat (loose skin on the back of the neck) while the other trims the nails.

Is there a semi-adhesive wallpaper, or some decorative sticky paper that can be removed from walls w/o marks?

My sister is having a baby boy soon and lives in an apartment in Manhattan. They are not allowed to paint their walls unless they paint them back and do not want to pant the walls of the nursery for ease when moving out. I suggested cutting out blue green and dark blue circles (she wants polka dot decor for the baby's room) of a sticky paper/plastic material that can adhere to a wall but be removed without damage - any suggestions? I know this stuff must exist I just don't know what it's called. Is there a semi-adhesive wallpaper, or some decorative sticky paper that can be removed from walls w/o marks?
Contact paper. It comes in every color, you can cut out any shape you want and it's cheap!

    The short answer: No

    Longer Answer:

Your stomach contains concentrated HCl which will dissolve anything that can be dissolved (proteins, etc). The rest you will pass (cellulose). None of that would be particularly toxic. Anything that was would be in trace amounts that could easily be handled by your body with no detrimental effects.

  • Why does adhesive not stick to the inside of the tube?

the lack of moisture is what makes adhesive sticky. While in the tube, it has its original moisture...like dude said...leave the top off and it will stick. Why does adhesive not stick to the inside of the tube?
It does stick to some degree as there is a small amount of the adhesive that would stay stuck to the sides even if you emptied the entire tube. adhesive requires a certain amount of exposure to air to stick - in the tube there's not enough air so it won't stick to the tube or to itself that much.
    but it does stick.

HELP - I am allergic to bandage adhesive?

I have been allergic to latex for at least the last 10 years. This has made buying latex free bandages almost impossible until the last few years. Just recently (the last few weeks) I have developed an allergy to teh bandages I have been using that are latex free. The brand is Nexcare. Does anyone know of another brand of latex free bandages? I am at the point of not being able to use bandages. This is a problem since I don't heal well to begin with and usually require bandages for prolonged periods of time. Any help would be appreciated. I used to use paper towels and paper tape. I don't want to return to that. Thank you.HELP - I am allergic to bandage adhesive?

I've used some 'liquid bandage' stuff on some wounds - its a clear liquid that dries over the wound to seal it up:

Sometimes I've also used rolled gauze bandage to tie pads over wounds. Lastly, I've used a Nexcare Transparent Bandage, as found here:

But I found it kind of uncomfortable because it trapped in a lot of heat. Good luck, hope you find something that works.
check out band aids new skin it is not an adhesive but a liquid you put right on the wound, and then it seals it when it dries. check ingredients first but it is worth a try.
Please tell me that you are under the care of a good dermatologist! this is more than allergy. talk to him/her now!
you know, i am allergic to latex, and i know people who are allergic to the adhesive. all you can do it try the liquid bandage stuff (after you wash it well) and even though this may sound awful.... some people i know use super glue... but be careful it is horribly sticky!

    Cindy-

It sounds like you need to see either a general dentist or prosthodontist who can set you up with a procedure called a relining procedure- The procedure is not nearly as expensive as a new set of dentures, and allows them to ';refit'; the part of the dentures that touch your mouth - Ideally, this will allow a ';tighter'; fit with the denture adhesive, allowing you to use your dentures in the way they were meant to be.

PLEASE, do not use superglue in your mouth. As it probably says on the package, superglue is not meant for human consumption or ingestion, as there are chemicals in there that could have adverse health effects. Secondly, your dentures should not be kept in all the time as this leads to denture stomatitis and could cause irritation to your gum tissue.
Sounds like you need to have them re-fitted cause they shouldn't be doing that.

What is double-sided adhesive tape used for?

i have some and don't know whether to give it to charity or keep for a rainy day...as it were. I need to know exactly what its purpose is.

Thanks. What is double-sided adhesive tape used for?
it is use for scrapbook you should keep itWhat is double-sided adhesive tape used for?
It's for temporarily adhering things to another surface. For example, I have a painting in my living room that's actually three individual palm trees along the same beach. These have to be perfectly aligned at all times to look right. So, I hung the paintings like normal with a hook. But, I also used two-sided tape at the bottom to keep the paintings squared up with each other.

If I hadn't used that, just a slight breeze or whatever could knock one or more out of alignment. But, I didn't want to permanently affix the bottoms of the paintings to the wall, in case I want to take them down some time or put something else there.
it has many functions, you can use it to stick up posters on the wall, you can use it to stick two objects together, depending on the strengh of the tape you can use it to stick together things of varying weights.. it might be useful to keep it around
keep strapless dresses/tops up, or other clothing into place...

posters for the walls or extra support for wall hanging picture frames...

tape together something that needs it but with out the tape being shown... basically anything that needs to be adhered onto another object...

    save it...
Is it carpet tape? Carpet tape is double sided to stick carpet to the floor.

If it's like regular scotch tape then it could be used for taping paper together, etc, etc.
It's exactly like it sounds. Double sided tape, You stick it to something, Then stick something to it. ( simple ) keep it you never know.
    It's for April Fool's, silly!!

Stick some on the dining room chair, wait until people wake up and go to breakfast, and hilarity will ensue, I assure you, my friend.
it is mainly used for laying carpet however it is very useful to put two objects together like wood for jigs and such, up to you
save it, you can use it for trapping burglars when they try to sneak through your window .... but it won't be much good on a rainy day cause the wet burglar will just slip through the trap :-)

I want to make a a steel putty adhesive. can any one help and tell me that which material i can use in it .?

i wwant to make in two parts and which we mix both the chemical it should make a putty and then it should be used as a steel adhesiveI want to make a a steel putty adhesive. can any one help and tell me that which material i can use in it .?
Get some JB Weld, you can mix it up in two parts. Its an epoxy, and not a putty. A putty mix will not bond steel, you need an epoxy that will ';glue'; the steel pieces together.

A putty mixture will be an oily compound, or of petroleum based and is not designed to ';stick'; to metal. Oh, it may harden up and if you insert metal into it, bond like that, but, its not designed to ';glue'; pieces of metal together, unless they have something new on the market that I am not aware of...(They do have tons of stuff coming out weekly and sometimes daily, but I am giveing you the benefiet of my knowledge at this present time).

JB WELD is the best to put two pieces of metal together. We used it to bind a hub that was busted and it had several tones of weight on it, and it held together for a year and a half, (which impressed me to no end!).

Ok, my two cents for what its worth..

Floor Tiling adhesive and sealing question?

I have taken up some old slate tiles in my kitchen. Whatever adhesive was used when they were laid down seems to me to be oil based.

As modern tile adhesives do not like oil, Is it a good idea or not for me to use PVA glue on the floor to act as a sealant and when dry add the tile adhesive?Floor Tiling adhesive and sealing question?
You need to determine what it is they are laid on. If you have oil contamination in the screed that needs to be dealt with. Either by removing the contaminated layer of the screed, and re-screeding, most drastic but safest, or apply an epoxy based primer before fixing tiles down.

If it is bitumen, as in the type used to fixed old vinyl tiles, then because of its unstable nature (bitumen is soft when warm, and hard when cold), you will need to remove at least 80% before fixing your tiles.

Oh and keep PVA from tile applications. PVA doesn't like water.

Try a SBR, or an acrylic primer such as BAL APD.Floor Tiling adhesive and sealing question?
It is probably bitumen based. You should use a primer recommended by the adhesive people. PVA may not be too keen on oil either, of course.

Anyone know of a website that allows me to design my own adhesive labels for jars?

With any type of labels the bigger the quantity you buy, the cheaper they are. You didn't mention the size of the labels, or type. Did you want lust typeface, or typeface and a picture (logo)? Did you want a matte finish ( dull) or a glossy finish to the labels? Do you want 1 color or 25? (think pictures) How many labels do you need? Are you going to order labels for just a one-time thing? Or are you going to order a bunch now, and re-order more throughout the year? Are you going to hand-apply the labels, or have a filler apply them on a machine? Are your jars going to be plastic or glass? Does the label have to oriented? ( referring to placing labels on a jar with a seam or line running vertically) There are soooo many choices! What shape label? Ok, I don't want to scare you here. International Paper has a great website to give you info ( no I don't work for them, I have ordered from them though) here you go:

Styrofoam Adhesive to use with popsicle sticks?

Will a hot glue gun or elmers white glue work on styrofoam?Styrofoam Adhesive to use with popsicle sticks?
Permanent white glues will work on ps foams though could take a long time to dry.

(If you used a thin white glue like Elmers instead of a thicker tacky white glue, you'd definitely want Elmers' GlueAll since it's permanent... not Elmers' Washable School Glue).

Glue guns are good too, but if you're using a *high-temp* glue gun as opposed to the more common *low-temp* glue gun for crafts, you'll want to extrude the glue onto something else (perhaps a popscicle stick) to let it cool down just a little before touching it to the ps foam (or it will melt it).

You could actually use a dot or two of white glue, then use the glue gun glue around it, then get a quick bond that wll also be stronger and more flexible once the white glue dries.

There's an adhesive spray specifically for ps foam too.. think it's called 3M Spray 77, or something like that.

    Pepatong,

Elmer's glue, or similar glues would work for a limitled period of time. Decopauge could work, too, maybe for even a little longer. Glues like Liquid Nails or similar would work for very long times. You get those in hardware stores.

What type of adhesive do i use to glue a solid wood floor to a concrete floor?

You should always use the manufacturers' recommended adhesives for any flooring product. The flooring manufacturer will require you to go to the adhesive manufacturer for any warranty issues. However, if there is no recommended adhesive, we use Bostik's Best for the majority of our wood installations. Before you install, make certain to allow the solid wood flooring to acclimate in the area in which it is to be installed for at least 48 hours prior to installation.

Be warned. Although we do install wood flooring directly to concrete slabs on a regular basis, if you decide to change floors later on, demo of the wood is a painstaking process. What type of adhesive do i use to glue a solid wood floor to a concrete floor?
If you're talking about gluing a solid wood floor over concrete, don't try! You should put ply wood down first with a ramset or using cap-con screws. If you use 3/4'; ply, you will probably be able to use flooring nails and the gun. Better yet, if you have enough room to put strapping down first and screw the plywood to them, you'll be better off. What type of adhesive do i use to glue a solid wood floor to a concrete floor?
The local hardware Stores (like Lowes and Home Depot) have constantly at various times discussions like this -- in laying down hardwood floors over concrete slabs. GO to these seminars, get the handouts, and sit down and LEARN!
    Gorilla glue works great!
Agree with ramset... don't do it! Wood and concrete expand and contract differently with fluctuations in temperature and moisture. You should get some good advice (moisture barrier, for instance?) from a building supply store or contractor before proceeding.

    Good luck with the project!
Rather than glue the wood flooring TO the concrete, I suggest that you glue the flooring to ITSELF.... creating a ';floating floor';.

The reason for this, is that concrete acts a conduit for moisture. You NEED a moisture barrier between the concrete, and the flooring! Typically, this is a 6 mil thick sheet of plastic... not expensive at all, and it can save you a ton of money and frustration down the road. Concrete acts as a straw, literally, sucking moisture up thru it....this WILL damage any flooring laid directly onto it.

To create a ';floating floor'; you use a method called tongue and groove gluing. And any good brand of wood glue will work for this... I happen to prefer Titebond wood glues myself, Ive worked with them for several years, and have never had any problems.

I would also recommend that you go to a Lowe's or other chain store, and sit thru one of their classes on the subject...you can pick up some very good tips on how to do the job, which will make it much easier.

Do floor and wall tiles absorb Adhesive?

I just stuch 7mm thick tiles to my bathroom wall with a thick layer of adhesive and now some tiles seem to have wet marks on them as if they have absorbed water from behind the tile. This has only appeared after they were put on the wall so do they absoprb the adhesive and will it dry out?

(The walls they were applied to were dry)

ThanksDo floor and wall tiles absorb Adhesive?
there are some adhesive that are used with a latex mixture which will stop the adhesive from actually soaking into the tiles itself. Plus, if you used an old adhesive (sometimes got from the store shelf) that will have condensation (water) inside of the container and that will cause you to apply water to the backs of the tiles. This should dry up, (in the front of the tiles) but if not you may need to pull a few off to replace some. You can do this after grouting, just to make sure the tiles do fade back into color. Of course, not if the entire job is like the affected ones. Then it's other project. Good luck!!!Do floor and wall tiles absorb Adhesive?
all tiles are baked to dry them there is always a little porosity on the back side and some moisture will raise to the surface but within a few days it will dry
They sometimes absorb moisture from the adhesive. Some tiles I have used absorbed moisture and could be seen from the front. The adhesive dried out as it soaked into the wall material sealing the moisture between the dried wall area and the glazed tile surface. Several years later it had still not dried.

So yes absorption happens and maybe it will dry out.

I might also add since I don't know what kind of tile it is, if it is marble and not a glazed tile it could be spots caused if vinegar was used.
The adhesive is supposed to be troweled on with a special notched trowel for this type of adhesive. You probably slobbered on far too much adhesive. There may be solvents in the adhesive that are affecting the tile, and once this evaporates the tile might return to normal.

There are all types of adhesive cleaners around and I'm sure you hear about most. The cheapest and easiest is still good old mineral spirits. You can get it at any hardware store of even Walmart. Put a little on a rag a bit of rubbing and it will come right off. Will not harm plastic or anything else and is safe. How can i clean the adhesive residue left on my dash by velcro?
You can also try rubbing some peanut butter on it then wiping it clean. The PB is a little gritty, and oily to get sticky bits off, but not strong enough to damage the plastic.Or you can buy 'goo gone' that takes off stickyness too.
Rubbing alcohol will get it off and wont fade your dash.

Propanol-2 is a good option. Switch Cleaning oil also works well. Let the glue wet for 15 minutes. Dont use nails or scrubbers. Use only tissue papers.

What may cause an allergic reaction to Band-Aids and adhesive tape(s), and what can be used as a replacement?

In a recent hospital visit, after nurses put in an I.V. site, the area around the adhesive tape became very red and tender. A minor rash broke out, but recently cleared up when the tape was removed. Not too long ago, after putting a Band-Aid on my neck, the area where the Band-Aid covered became very red, sore, and tender as well. I ended up having to take the Band-Aid off to ease the pain. It seems that I have experienced some dermatitis from the contact of the adhesive in the tape(s). I do not have a reaction with latex contact (gloves and/or condoms). What may cause an allergic reaction to Band-Aids and adhesive tape(s), and what can be used as a replacement?
It is because you are allergic to latex. Webmd had an article regarding that below is the link.

Another article regarding kids and latex allergy is below that one. What may cause an allergic reaction to Band-Aids and adhesive tape(s), and what can be used as a replacement?
It sounds like contact dermititis from the glue on the tape or band-aid. I am sorry I have no good suggestions for a replacement other than try to use a gauze pad and pressure when you get cut to stop any bleeding and then leave in uncovered if possible.
its a common allergy. The adhesive causes it use gauze and put the tape over the gauze to hold it in place not contacting the skin you shouldn't have any problems with this.Tell you Dr and the nurses that treat you to put allergic to tape adhesive on your chart.
wrap wounds with gauze and put tape only on gauze not skin!
I am allergic to tape as well, if its left for any amount of time, it kills me! The doctor told me its a form of contact dermatitis. Have them use that stretchy stuff that they put on you after a blood test now! Sometimes the lighter tapes or paper tape will work too.
Try using a gauze bandage and either microspore or paper tape.

Please no mention of the Xyron machines as the refill cartridges can get too expensive!!!! I need to know what adhesive I can apply to the back of a certain type of paper that will make that paper act like a sticker. Is it possible to repair water damaged hardwood floors (now dry) steaming glue or adhesive into floor? Ideas?

I have hardwood floors that were under a carpet with plastic under that. Over a year or so that I had some friends living and taking care of the house; their house plants leaked some water over several square feet; raised and wrinkled the hardwood. I was wondering if there was a way to steam or otherwise inject glue or adhesive into the wood without replacing it entirely. would it be possible to steam and use heavy flat weight (such as plywood with heavy weight) distributed over the surface to flatten it. Any other ideas? Is it possible to repair water damaged hardwood floors (now dry) steaming glue or adhesive into floor? Ideas?
From what you have told us, it will be easier to just cut out the section that is bad and replace it. Steam will just raise the grain on it. The water damage most likely made that part of the floor swell up anyway. But also, depending how bad it is, you might be able to sand it flush but I doubt it.Is it possible to repair water damaged hardwood floors (now dry) steaming glue or adhesive into floor? Ideas?
You ll have to replace the flooring.. Once it s cupped or wrinkled as you said its ruined sorry.. Good friends will pay or at least go halvesies on it w/ you..I hope the wood is running parallel w/ the wall that the plants were up against..This is assuming they were by a window GL
Replacement seems to be the only method here. Not necessarily the entire floor. Get in touch with a good hardwood floor company and hope that it is appropriate to repair just the damaged section. Sorry.
I would replace the lot,as I have never seen anyone repair hardwood floors with this problem.

They make a regular carpet glue made for what you are doing.. You can buy it at most hardware stores or any where a lot of different flooring is sold. The use of a tube applied glue only gives you spot adhesion. A quart or pint of this spreadable glue will give you a full spread and complete adhesion. It goes a long way so figure just how many s/f od s/m you need. There are epoxys besides thinset mortar.I will warn you epoxy anything is difficult for even the pro's to work with.Stick with thinset and if your worried about bond make sure you do the necessery prep work backerboard over wood or removing paint and drywall residue before installing over concrete grinding if the concrete is overtroweled or a smooth finish.Use atleast a medium grade thinset c cure 914 or customs versa bond or equilivent.Mastic is garbage and takes a long time to dry chances are if you used it when you went to grout the moisture would loosen the tiles and ruin your work.I have seen this happen.I have also seen when mastic is used as a crack suppression and moisture comes up thru the crack the mastic turn to mush and the tile bond break.Just remember materials are expensive so getting it right is worth spending a little more than losing everything and having to tear it out and repurchase materials again.Good luck.Any other tile adhesive? besides tile mortar?
What you want to use is multi-purpose thinset. If you're looking for something different, you're asking for trouble.
depending on the size of the tile, if its smaller then 8x8 you can use mastic. otherwise mortar is all there is.
Nothing i would trust. Maybe mastic...

Can wall tile adhesive be used on floor tiles as well as walls?

We have a B%26amp;Q tiler in at the moment - and he's using wall tile adhesive to stick floor tiles on the floor. Is this okay? Shouldn;t he be using a floor tile adhesive instead? Can wall tile adhesive be used on floor tiles as well as walls?
Despite the great answers that you have been given from others, the answer is no. Wall tile adhesive is a glue of sorts that is used to hold tiles on a vertical surface and not meant to take weight. For floor tile I only use ';Thinset'; mortar. It is a whole lot cheaper and will hold tiles down for ever and a day. Good Luck! Can wall tile adhesive be used on floor tiles as well as walls?
The name of the product should be your biggest clue. Wall tile mastic is for WALL TILE. Use THINSET for your floor. Read the directions on the bag and you can't go wrong. Make sure he's using the right grout too!! There's 2 kinds-Sanded and Non Sanded. a hardener can also be added to the grout and don't forget it needs to be sealed??
I assume your meaning ceramic tile.. And yes you can..If its a cement based glue called a thinset , which is both white and grey. I don t recommend the mastic type glue that can be used in both areas, but it is made for it.Thinset is cheaper and much stronger than the mastic ..
Yes its perfectly OK. But if the floor is in an area where it going to get wet on a regular basis then make sure its waterproof adhesive.
    yes that is fine http://1st-floortile.blogspot.com/

    thanks - http://www.asesidea.com
floor tiling adhesive is best because its more flexible than wall tile adhesive, and will provide more give under foot.
anything can be used as a building material as long as it POSES NO risk to your health or safety.
    yes it should be ok

Is there an adhesive that foams up and fills spaces?

';Great Stuff'; sold at home depot or lowes. BE SURE to follow directions on the can b/c it really expands fast when you use it. WEAR GLOVES when you use this. if you don't, keep a bottle of fingernail polish remover close by to get it off your fingers quickly before it dries. i didn't wear gloves the first time and it took several days to wear off my hands. Is there an adhesive that foams up and fills spaces?
Yes, there is, but I can't remember the name of it. It's a polyurethane foam and you can buy it at Home Depot or Lowe's. It works really well.Is there an adhesive that foams up and fills spaces?
no but there is a foam that will stick to whatever and expands to fill up cracks insulate etc
A great glue is Gorilla glue, but be careful it is very permanent.

Read the instructions. I used this glue to fix a metal patio bench over a year ago and it is very strong.
yes, you can find it at any Home Depot. It really works. Good luck.
Gorilla glue. I think the other guy is talking about Great Stuff, which is a foam insulation for stuff that will stick to surfaces but isn;t necessarily an adhesive. Gorilla glue is great!
yes its a foam insulation but be careful do not over fill because it expands
Yes, look in your hardware store. Be careful this stuff really foams up! You can cut off any excess easily with a kitchen knife.

Is there a reason you want to use something other than thinset?

Are you placing backer board down first?

Have you determined that the floor is capable of supporting tile?

Any product that does not produce an even coverage will lead to the tile cracking because it is not being properly supported from underneath.

Likewise, a floor that flexes too much will cause the tile to crack.

Is an adhesive bra really supportive?

Does it push them up and can you put some bra pads in them for padding???Is an adhesive bra really supportive?
The adhesive bra is supportive, but if you have breasts over a c cup it won't do too much supporting. It's tricky to get them on just right so follow the instructions to the letter. And No you cannot put pads in with them. If you have a dress that requires a this type of bra, I would suggest that you pin some padding into the dress itself and then use fashion tape to tape the padding to your breasts while wearing the adhesive bra.

You can actually use duct tape to tape ';up'; your breasts, its an old pageant trick. Start by taping from under one armpit, squeezing you boobs together(maybe a girlfriend can help you with the tape part ) and then use one long piece of tape underneath the lower half of you boobs. The tape should actually cover part of your breast, essentially taping them together, end it under the other armpit. In conjunction with the adhesive bra you will get the desired effect.

Good Luck!Is an adhesive bra really supportive?
I have tried them before and they were very uncomfortable and not very supportive at all. I'm not extremely big (34C) but they were just more of a hassle than they were worth.
It depends on how big your chest is. If you are going to put push-ups in the bra make sure you get it a little bigger.

Is spray adhesive clear? How strong is it?

We have a mirror in our bathroom that was attached using something that leaked through and we have a big ';x'; stain basically in our mirror (from the previous owners). There is tile all around the mirror and we would like to just put a new mirror on top of the old yucky ';x'; stained mirror and we are wondering how we can attach it? Thanks!!Is spray adhesive clear? How strong is it?
Yes it is clear. Strong for certain objects but I doubt if it would hold up a mirror. Most likely it would mess up the paint on the back of the mirror.

If removing it out of the question then you could use double sided tape. It most likely would have to be of the foam type if you can't get both mirror real close to each other. You could also us velcro tape. Check out epoxy and some of the construction glues at your local hardware store. They should say if they will work on glass. Remember that the back of a mirror is nothing more than a coating of silver type material then a couple coats of paint. Nothing very solid there as you can guess since the one you have has an X in it.

Why not just tape everything up real good all around the old mirror using painters blue tape, then bust the old one out and install the new one in it's place.

They also make plastic hanger thingies that you set your mirror in then screw the hanger to the wall. Door mirrors are hung that way.
