What is double-sided adhesive tape used for?

i have some and don't know whether to give it to charity or keep for a rainy day...as it were. I need to know exactly what its purpose is.

It's for temporarily adhering things to another surface. For example, I have a painting in my living room that's actually three individual palm trees along the same beach. These have to be perfectly aligned at all times to look right. So, I hung the paintings like normal with a hook. But, I also used two-sided tape at the bottom to keep the paintings squared up with each other.





If I hadn't used that, just a slight breeze or whatever could knock one or more out of alignment. But, I didn't want to permanently affix the bottoms of the paintings to the wall, in case I want to take them down some time or put something else there.
it has many functions, you can use it to stick up posters on the wall, you can use it to stick two objects together, depending on the strengh of the tape you can use it to stick together things of varying weights.. it might be useful to keep it around
keep strapless dresses/tops up, or other clothing into place...





posters for the walls or extra support for wall hanging picture frames...

Is it carpet tape? Carpet tape is double sided to stick carpet to the floor.


If it's like regular scotch tape then it could be used for taping paper together, etc, etc.
It's exactly like it sounds. Double sided tape, You stick it to something, Then stick something to it. ( simple ) keep it you never know.

it is mainly used for laying carpet however it is very useful to put two objects together like wood for jigs and such, up to you
save it, you can use it for trapping burglars when they try to sneak through your window .... but it won't be much good on a rainy day cause the wet burglar will just slip through the trap :-)

I use it to tape my butt cheeks together so they look good in my jeans. One strip in the crack and I'm set to go.
hanging up stuff... because who wants to spend 2.5 seconds curling a normal piece of tape into a circle?
