I'm looking for a good permanent waterproof adhesive to use to apply paper to a cotton canvas. I tried using a gluestick but it didn't work. What should I use? I was looking at getting a Krylon adhesive spray, would that work? ThanksAdhesive for applying paper to canvas?
3M make a spray adhesive called Super 77. You can pick it up at Lowes or Home Depot. The only krylon spray adhesive that I have any experience with is easy tack, and definitely won't work for you. Super 77 should work, if you spray it on kind of heavy, then let it set up for a few minutes before placing your paper on the canvas. I think 3M make one stronger than Super 77 but I can't think of the name of it.Adhesive for applying paper to canvas?
That adhesive spray works just like rubber cement - that isn't the best for this application. Go to the fabric store and look for fabric glues - there are different types for fabric to fabric or for adhering jewels. They stay flexible.
I once used tissue paper to make a picture of geraniums - I used clear acrylic glaze - which also stays flexible - and just wet my brush and ';painted'; the cut out paper into place.
