What kind of adhesive do i use to fix something plaster?

i have a plaster hand print my nephew made when he was 2, my husband accidentally broke it, now its in 3 pieces, what could i use to put it back together without messing it upWhat kind of adhesive do i use to fix something plaster?
Go to the hardware store and get some Plaster paris, a pint size milk carton container will work. It looks like flour and you just add a little water and spread it on the cracks and tape it together until it sets. it dries quick. and maybe you can find a paint by numbers pic that has matching paint to cover the seams, or tell him you needed to paint the thing over again because the old paint was peeling??. that way he would take it so hard.
